1 Time Gift - Farm to Families Program
Description
The Farm to Families Program is designed to help provide food to families who struggle to put nutritious, farm fresh food on the table. This program currently has a 3-fold approach for food access:
- Voucher program for shopping at BA Angus & Agriculture (online or in person) and for shopping with participating vendors at the Mansfield Farm & Cottage Market (vouchers distributed from a partnering local food bank).
- Produce, breads, or other qualifying homestead products donated from vendors are provided to partnering local food bank.
- Coordinated co-operative bulk meat purchases with families which can include pork, beef, rabbit, or chicken by working with the local food bank.
BA Connects partners with Mansfield Mission Center food bank in Mansfield TX. The program relies primarily on donations and proceeds from BA Angus & Agriculture; as funds are available in the endowment account, vouchers are released to the local food bank to provide to those who come in seeking food. Additionally, BA Angus & Ag will work with the local food bank to coordinate larger quantity meat purchases (processed at the farm or through approved processors) for families to be able to keep meat in the freezer for additional food security as the funding and schedule becomes available. The program also provides resources for learning to cook nutritional meals (through our Bread of Life Program) or to access Biblical resources (through our Word of Life Program).
BA Angus & Ag is committed to helping provide access to food and homestead goods for those in need. We look forward to partnering with individuals, business, and missions to grow this program in the future. Learn more at BA Connects.
